The Little Learning Tree Preschool was established in 2016 and our aim is to provide friendly, engaging and safe environments for children whilst enhancing their development and education through play for children aged 2 years - school age.

 

We want your children to develop their social and emotional skills and independence ready for the next stage in their education.

 

Our Vision is that through play-based learning, the children will develop to their full potential and gain independence, confidence and the social and emotional skills required for the next part of their learning journey. We fulfil this through interactive, engaging and creative play, and activities, in a safe, calm  and friendly environment.

We will introduce children to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum in a fun and stimulating way.

The elements we cover, as outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), include:-

• Personal, social and emotional development

• Mathematics

• Understanding the world

• Expressive Arts and Design

The Early Years Foundation continues through to primary school and for that reason we aim to build close links with Broadwater Down, St Marks Primary Schools, St Peters Primary, St James Primary, Claremont Primary, Southborough Primary and other primary schools in the area. We also aim for the Primary Reception staff to visit the Pre-school in Term 6 to meet with the children who will be joining their school in September of that year. This is of real benefit to both teaching staff and children as familiarity will already be built up prior to your child starting school.

We also aim to ensure families and carers are involved in every step of their child's learning journey by introducing events such as; "stay and play" weeks and providing examples of activities that can be done at home to support their child's development.
